Dr Danny Awwad
FRACS, FAOrthA, MBBS Orthopaedic Surgeon
Dr Danny Awwad is an Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in primary and revision hip and knee replacements, sports injuries and trauma. He has a keen interest in anterior (minimally invasive) hip replacement techniques and has trained with world renowned surgeons in Australia and Switzerland. He has completed further Fellowship training in robotic hip and knee replacements in Glasgow and revision hip and knee replacements in Oxford, UK.

As an Associate Clinical Lecturer at The University of Adelaide, Dr Awwad has contributed to the development of future surgeons. He has also worked in prominent hospitals, including the Nuffield Orthopaedic Centre in Oxford and the Golden Jubilee National Hospital in Glasgow, where he focused on advanced techniques in revision and robotic surgery.
Dr Awwad has held various roles throughout his career, including as an Orthopaedic Trauma Consultant at Flinders Medical Centre, and has completed his Orthopaedic Registrar training at several renowned hospitals across South Australia, including Royal Adelaide Hospital and Lyell McEwin Hospital.
Outside of his professional life, Dr Awwad is a passionate sportsperson. He has coached, managed, and played in a social touch football team from 2022 to 2024 and has been a member of the Adelaide University Rugby Union Football Club from 2009 to 2014 and again in 2021.
